  3. Field Strategy: Discard binoculars or telescopes—naked-eye observation is superior for random, wide-sky flashes. Lie flat on your back and look 45 to 60 degrees away from the radiant rather than staring directly at Perseus to catch meteors with long, sweeping tails.
